Christmas Cantata-December 8th

The FCC Chancel Choir will perform Small Dancing Light during the 10:15 service.  The cantata, written by Taylor Scott Davis, with text by Terry York, consists of nine movements, including three carols for the congregation and guests to participate.  Dr. York's text creates images of anticipation and revelation, centered on the words dawn, hope, peace, love, and joy, all pointing towards Christ.

It sometimes seems that for many, Christmas is something of a spirit of joy and happiness, with parties, presents and joy

everywhere they turn. For others, Christmas is a time that is filled with stark reminders of who is not with us, what we are not getting, the sadness and gloom that is starkly apparent to

us. As unrealistic as these impressions are, Christmas can be a time of gloom and depression. Pat Lindquist and Michael

Montgomery will hold a “Blue Christmas Service” in the Chapel at 7 p.m. on December 19 to reflect on our griefs and make this a time of healing.

Our annual Community Sing-a-Long will be held at FCC on Saturday, Dec 21, at 4:00 PM. The Blue Tulip Wranglers will lead us in singing many of our favorite holiday songs. This year’s donation will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Elgin. Come and celebrate the season with song.
